Funding the future of gastroenterology.
The AGA Research Foundation is the charitable arm of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). The foundation provides more than $3 million in research grants annually to promising investigators in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology.
The AGA Research Foundation Awards Program is critical to ensuring a healthy pipeline of researchers in GI and hepatology. The foundation’s early career awards support young researchers at a critical decision point in their careers — when many consider giving up on research due to a lack of funding. By funding these researchers, we’re funding the discovery of new tools and treatments to care for digestive health patients.
The generous contributions from AGA Research Foundation donors go directly into grants for investigators.
Our vision: To be the pre-eminent foundation that supports young researchers in gastroenterology and hepatology.
Our mission: To raise funds to support young researchers in gastroenterology and hepatology.
“I donated to the AGA Research Foundation to ensure the vitality of our specialty, and to fund the research of future generations of gastroenterologists. Funding from organizations like the AGA Research Foundation is crucial for young scientists and gastroenterologists to launch their careers. At the start of my career, I received two AGA research awards. As a grateful recipient of such funding, I felt it was my turn to support the mission of the organization that I regard as my academic home away from home institution.”
